Indiana's First Jack in the Box to Open Monday

I'm not that interested in this news other than to say that JITB is a place I've never been to before, but based on this blog's web traffic it seems like a helluva lot of you are interested so I wanted to keep you posted. According to this article on Indystar.com the first location will be opening Monday 1/16/12 at the intersection of US 31 and County Line Rd on the South side.  I honestly doubt I'll be driving that far just to pick up fast food, but if my travels take me that way for some reason I might stop in for a bite to report back to you other interested parties.

Restaurant Impossible Filming Nearby

According to Indystar.com Food Network restaurant makeover show Restaurant Impossible will be filming within the next two weeks at a place in Nora called The Snooty Fox. I've never been to the restaurant so I can't speak to it's quality. I have, however, watch Restaurant Impoosible and I can tell you that I think it kind of sucks.  As I've blogged about in the past I think it is pretty much just a cheap ripoff of Kitchen Nightmares, but I do somewhat like Robert Irvine and I wish the owners of the restaurant featured on the show all the best.

Food News: Jack In The Box Finally Coming to Indy

On Twitter the other day I saw a tweet from IndianapolisEater from wouldibuyitagain.com stating that Jack In The Box, the West coast based fast food chain, finally made official plans to start opening locations here in Indy.  I decided to find the story myself, and sure enough I found this article from the Indystar confirming that Jack plans to build the first restaurant on a site in Greenwood.  While this may be disheartening to all of us northsiders that long for a chain with a huge menu that serves breakfast all day we can find hope in the fact that Jack In The Box apparently has plans to jump into the Indy market full stop with locations all over the city.  I know it's just fast food, but I'm always at least a little excited when regional chains finally make their way into our area.  This is especially true after seeing so many of their commercials yet never eating their food.  Jack In The Box is the parent company of Qdoba, of which I'm a huge fan, so I have to say I'm optimistic about their burger chain.  Only time will tell.  Now if we could only get those people at Sonic to open up some restaurants around here.
